Carpet Bag Class

Aunties Two Pattern "Carpet Bag"

About this experience

July 25, 2026

Saturday 9-2

Spend a few hours in Mended Hearts’ spacious classroom and go home with a spacious Carpet Bag!  This fun to make bag is suitable for a wide variety of fabric types and you can choose any color combination.

In addition to the fabric and notions listed on the pattern, you’ll need to bring your sewing machine – a walking foot will be helpful. MHQ supplies irons and pressing stations in our classroom, as well as rotary cutting stations.  Please bring your own rotary cutter and ruler(s), pins, clips, marking tool, scissors and the usual tools you like to use.

You may wish to bring a sack lunch and a beverage (in a sealed/lidded container, please). A microwave, refrigerator, and ice are available.

This class is suitable for confident beginners. If you have any questions about the class, the supplies, or the classroom – please call or email Mended Hearts Quilting.

Denise Bachelder is a passionate textile artist who loves to combine the colorful realm of fabric with other art forms in new and innovative ways.

With more than 10 years in the quilting world and several more decades worth of experience in clothing construction as well as other textile and fiber art fields, Denise brings a deep love for textiles, color, and design. Denise believes that quilting is not just a skill; it's a journey of self-expression. In her classes, you can expect a blend of technique, tradition, and contemporary flair.

While her expertise spans a wide range of styles, she has a particular fondness for collage, hand embroidery, quilt design and garment making.

When she is not immersed in the world of quilting, you can find her outside on the farm with the dogs and horses, or inside under a quilt with a good book.
