Legit Kits Certified Workshop
Two-Day Immersive Experience August 28 & 29, 2026
We are excited to host a Certified Instructor from Legit Kits for a special two-day workshop at Mended Hearts!
This class is open to all skill levels and any Legit Kits project. If you already have a kit in your stash — bring it! If not, we will provide registered participants with a special discount code approximately 8 weeks prior to class so you can order directly from the Legit Kits website. www.legitkits.com Once your kit arrives, copy the newsprint pages single sided. This is your pattern.
Over two full days you will learn:
- How to organize your kit with a simple technique
- Build an organization system that makes your project totally transportable (perfect for sew days and retreats)
- Foundation paper piecing: while these kits look comples, they really aren't - you'll leave class with the skills to finish your project.
Our goal is simple: you will leave feeling confident, capable, and excited to continue your project.
✨ Lunch will be provided on both Friday and Saturday.
Students will need to bring:
-
Sewing machine, power cord, foot pedal, manual
- Needles and bobbins
-
Basic sewing supplies (scissors, pins/clips, marker, seam ripper, thread clippers)
- 45mm rotary cutter (with new sharp blade) and rotary cutting mat
- 6" x12" ruler with 1/4" markings

About Me
I live in the greater Kansas City area but I am always excited about a new travel adventure. I became interested in quilting in the ‘80’s. I took several classes but life got in the way and I was unable to continue my quilting journey. When my son went to college, I took a class at a local quilt store and it was “Teach a Man to Fish.” I was gone. I quilted all the time. Then in 2021 I found Legit Kits. I became a pattern tester for them and to date I have made over 33 Legit Kits. I love the art. I love the end result. I love Legit. I love all of it so much that I became a Legit Kits Certified Instructor in the fall of 2025.
These are beautiful quilts that require a unique set of skills that I am excited to teach. If your group or guild is interested in a trunk show or workshop please contact me.
