This generous twin size quilt is a variation of a "stacked coins" quilt pattern that is set vertically, with random "pennies" of fabric scattered throughout. These instructions guide you through some clever yet simple planned improvisation to maximize the pattern and minimize fabric waste.
This pattern works well in all fabrics, from modern to traditional to batik. It can look great in high contrast prints or smoothly blended pattern textures. Choosing a group of fabrics from a designer's line can work well also, as can using coordinated jelly rolls. The Background fabric should be contrasting enough in value and texture to allow the main fabrics room to shine.
