Join us for Jen Kingwell's Block and Template of the Month Pick A Petal starting in June 2025 (first month will be mailed out June 20th)! You will receive a kit each month for 6 months. Each month's kit will vary with the amount of fabric and the number of templates, but will include all fabric and templates needed for that month's portion of the quilt.
This is a 6 month fabric and templates subscription.
The finished quilt measures 72 x 72" and is a mix of techniques: machine, hand piecing, applique and simple embroidery. If hand piecing and applique scares you this would be a great way to start with all of Jen's videos and classes included, as well as the private facebook group. It would also be a great project to get started with hand embroidery. So jump right in and have a blast making this project!
- Each participant will receive:
- Fabric packs which will use all of Jen's new fabric lines Mixed Bag of Lollies and Mixed Bag of Bonbons from Moda Fabrics, and some additional fabrics chosen by us, but inspired by Jen's quilt sample. This subscription includes all the fabric for the top of the quilt and binding.
- Printed instructions and templates.
- Monthly hints and tips videos to help piece each block via a private Facebook group.
- Participants will also receive free access to Jen's online hand piecing and appliqué classes.
All of this for the monthly charge of $54.99 plus shipping (shipping charges vary depending on location, weight, etc and could vary per month, but we only charge what we pay, and shipping for packages of this size are usually less than $10). This 6 month program is non-cancellable and non-refundable. You will be charged upon sign up and on a monthly basis for the duration of the program. When you subscribe your first block will be shipped to you on June 20th and on the 15th of each month after for the duration of the program. If you sign up after June 20th your first month will be shipped on the date purchased and on the 15th each month after for the duration of the program. You will be charged for a total of 6 payments at 54.99 plus shipping if applicable.
5 yards of backing fabric is needed, and not included.

I think Spring is my favourite season. After the grey days of winter, I get excited for the crisp mornings that shimmer with sunlight & hint at the warmth of Summer fast approaching. My garden begins to explode with vibrant colours and as I watch the butterflies and bees dance among the blooms, I can't help but feel my heart stir with joy and hope. When designing Pick A Petal I knew I wanted to capture the essence of Spring by weaving together the beauty and colour that this season brings to my world.
Using a mix of hand piecing, needle-turn appliqué and a range of stitch techniques I began my journey to create Pick A Petal. I love the way combining these techniques creates layers of detail and interest to a project.
I embellished the appliqué borders with butterflies, flowers, and fruits to further evoke the spirit of Spring.
The inspiration from Spring extended beyond the quilt, sparking the creation of my new fabric ranges with Moda. I’ve recoloured these fabrics to perfectly complement the playful and whimsical feel of this design.
I’m known as a scrap quilter and so I knew I wanted my ‘Mixed Bag’ ranges to reflect this: The colour palette is bright and fun mixing a range of prints.
I hope you enjoy this journey with me as much as I enjoyed the process of creating this design.
