During the Great Depression of the 1930's there was a great revival of quilting. The hard times brought a strong desire for women to socialize. Quilting became  a popular way for women to fulfill their desire to be creative while still making something practical for their families. To keep expenses to a minimum, women would find quilting materials from many different sources such as sewing scraps, out-grown clothing, and feed sacks. This fabric reminds of the hard work, talent, and creativity of the amazing quilters that came before us!
